Meet the Founders

Fred White

Fred White

Co-Founder & Student Pilot

Growing up in Kent, UK, the sight of Chinooks and Apaches thundering overhead sparked a fascination with aviation that never left him. At 18, Fred experienced the thrill of his first flight in a Robinson R22 - a moment that changed everything.

After studying an MEng in Civil Engineering at Loughborough and discovering his calling in Software Engineering, his passion for flying only grew stronger. Today, he flies out of Headcorn Aerodrome with Thurston Helicopters (now Polar Helicopters). The idea for AviNet has been brewing ever since he started his aviation journey - and he's thrilled to have finally brought it to life.

Josh Wheeler

Josh Wheeler

Co-Founder & Engineer

Josh is a Software Engineer with a diverse journey through startups and consulting worldwide. After graduating with an MEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Australia, his love for technology led him to software.

While not a pilot himself, years of travel across the globe fueled a deep fascination with aviation. When Fred shared his vision for AviNet, Josh was immediately captivated - the chance to build something that connects pilots worldwide was too exciting to pass up. Josh has since stepped back to focus on his career and personal life, but remains a proud co-founder and close friend.
